I just got my Shuttle SS56G v.3 put together, it POSTS fine.

I built this puppy for a server, so I tried to install windows 2000 advanced server, but it wont install.

1) It did the initial loading of drivers at the start of the fresh install setup.. then it would hang at "Setup is starting windows 2000". I did a search and found this can happen if scsi/raid/sata drivers arent loaded, so I tried to load the different drivers on the cd, to a floppy, that had 'txtsetup.oem' in the directory structure, but with no success. I don't think this is the issue, since the motherboard only supports IDE anyway.

2) I tried changing the HAL to Standard PC, and that got me past the 'setup is starting windows 2000' message. I formatted my 80gb samsung harddrive, and it began copying files. This is where it gets a 'stop: 0x0000001a memory management' error, BSOD.

Is this mobo simply too new for windows 2000 to install correctly?

This is the exact case and mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856101469
Its running with a p4 2.4a prescott 533 fsb, 512mb (2x256) Kingston ram, dvd-rom drive, floppy drive. Mobo has the newest BIOS

Anyone run into this problem?

Try running MemTest to ensure that your memory is good. You should receive no errors if your memory is decent.

It turns out that one of my sticks must have been seated incorrectly. :) Hurrah for the quick-fix :p
