Yes. And I only use the OS. Playing games doesn't seem to be a problem for me, atleast not with regards to the games I play 🙂. Win2k rulez.

AoD 😉

bigshooter, didn't know about the power user config, i'll have to do that once i get rid of WinMe 🙂 btw thanks for all the replies guys, Win2k rules!

Have had no problems with the newer games. Some old games don't play and I still can't figure out why🙂

I have had no problems with Q2, Q3 or Unreal. I've had some problems with DeusEx and I couldn't get Thief II to install.

Finished Diablo 2, playing Baulder's Gate 2 right now.....got a few program error from time to time, don't know if it is becuase of SMP, or my dual monitor setup or driver...., but other than those minor problem, everything is fine.

Yeah thats all it use WIn2K 🙂

Q3, UT, CS, AoK, Giants, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Rogue Spear..... all work fine with the DELL and A7V. Still getting my new A7V133(overclocked) to run 3DMark2K without lock up.... fine in non-overclocked. 😕

Currently, I run the following frequently in W2K:

Half-Life
Counter-Strike
Quake 3
Unreal Tournament
PowerDVD

.. among many others, but I use those almost every 2 hours or so 😉

I also will have this machine as a server to manage a 1.5 / 512K ADSL connection in about 3-4 weeks. And I might even get it for free since I work for the ISP 😛

I have been using Win2k as my only OS for the last 10 months, one of the added benefits of running games under Win2k is that there are very few game crashes, they just run and run without any problems and if they do have a problem, you don't need to reboot the box to relaunch the game, just relaunch it, win2k manages it very well. One of the main problems that I had was that win2k would not let you have the same refresh rate that your monitor supports in 2d mode, V-control solved that problem very nicely.
