Windows 2000 : USB2.0 support without installing SP4

Hi,

I was wondering if (and how) it would be possible, to install USB 2.0 drivers in w2k, but without installing the entire SP4.

This is meant to be used in commercial PC's, there is a high need for USB2 support, but we've experienced some problems with our hard- and software when using SP4.

And since we don't need any of the new features found in SP4, i was wondering if the above would be possible.

I've googled a bit, searched some forums, but can't seem to find anything (which is in fact logical as most ppl won't mind installing SP4)...

Any help regarding this would be very helpful.

Thanks

Check out your motherboard manufacturers web site.

They may have USB2.0 drivers for download for your particular board.

Make your vendors fix their s/w to be SP4 compatible...running without current patches is like going to work naked

You say that like there's something wrong there. 😛

Seriously though, we have a pair of Windows 2000 Servers intefaced with a Cisco VoIP network, and we are not able to patch beyond SP3 because of some incompatibility issues. So yeah, Cisco.. not exactly a "ma & pa" type vendor.
