I am planning to upgrade to windows 2000 from 98, and I have the upgrade cd.
Can I install it after i format the drive, how does that work?

I have not used an upgrade disk of 2000. But I would think it would be the same as 9x. Boot it up run setup put in 9x disk when prompted for qualifying product.

Another option would be to boot the 2000 cd it will check hd for qualifying product. Then setup should ask if you want to format drive and what file system.

It's really not best to upgrade to 2k from a 9x setup. You should do a clean install with a full version and SP2 when you're done loading everything up. If you need help PM me.
