I just upgraded to Windows 2000. It boots up really slow. I have it at work and it boots up normal. Why does it take so long to load at my house when I have a faster PC than the one at work?

The promise controllers boot slow. I have one built in on a MSI board and it is damn slow.

Most likely its the Promise card. Boot up takes forever on my system with a FastTrak66.

Yes, that promise controller card on some motherboards causes extremely slow bootups. i removed mine and used the onboard although not as good VIA U66 contoller.
