I was playing around in the services window, disabling a bunch of things I was not using. Yeah, you guessed it, I fscked something up hardcore. I figure I screwed up a dependency. Now I cannot even view the properties of the services to re-enable them. I right-click, select properties, the window kinda clicks, like it did something but then nothing. When I go to close the services window I cannot, it says I must close all property boxes before doing so. This invisible properties box also manifests itself in other areas, the Computer Manager among others.

Oddities:
- I have 2 network cards in this box yet when I select properties of network places I receive a blank window - there is not even "make new connection" icon let alone my two network interfaces.
- I cannot cut certain things in Internet Explorer
- I cannot follow certain links in IE
- I no longer have the network properties icon in my systray

More info:
2000 server, updated to the latest of everything at the beginning of the year. I have a multitude of 'automatic' services which do not start.

thanks in advance

Your problem sounds worse than when I did something similar. I did the same type of clean up in services and made it so I couldn't make adjustments to my network settings. I ended up installing over the top to fix it.

Good luck
