I have a dell 1650 rackmountable server, it has 3 18 gig drives using a raid 5 array, my problem is this:
When i boot the system on it gives me a blue screen and a kernal error. when i try to boot from a cd to repair it. it says there are no HD's connected to my machine.

I'm realy lost here can somone help i need to get this server backup and running has alot of important stuff on it.

Thanks

the drives are probably SCSI, and you probably need to load SCSI drivers for Win2k when it prompts you ( before you get to the repair screen ) so that you have access to the sCSI drives.

To load the drivers, I believe you have to press F6. There's a small prompt at the bottom when Windows Setup/Repair loads. It says ... "Press F6 to load SCSI adapter drivers" or something like that ... you'll need the driver CD or floppy for your SCSI drives..

However, since you have a Dell server, don't you also have the repair/utility CD that came with the system? It has a bunch of utilities, including repair and re-installation.
