Accourding to the site, you can only use the Windows XP Upgrade on Windows 98, 98SE, and windows ME.
Has anyone ever used it on 2000?
thanks

You sure about that? I would find it surprising that you could upgrade from 9x but not XP Home.Originally posted by: MrChad
2000 Pro to XP Pro is ok, but I don't think you can upgrade to XP Home.

Not that I know either way; I like to avoid upgrade installs.

Yeah.
I guess i'll have to install 98 then, lol.
I would get XP pro, but CompUSA has the XP upgrade for $80!
I might just be the lazy guy I am and buy a OEM from the egg... :/
No you don't have to install Windows 98 first. You can just install Windows XP, and it will ask you to insert a previous version of a Windows CD during the installation to qualify it as a valid upgrade path.
Actually XP has quite a bit of features that 2000 has. Depending on your needs it may offer many advantages.Originally posted by: theman
why do you want to "upgrade" to windows XP anyway? it offers no advantages over 2000, and you might as well just wait until Vista.
