When I installed W2K pro I put in a password for the "Administrator". Now when I boot it up it stops at the "sign in" screen and asks for the password. Of course I have to type in the password everytime.
Something tells me I should have left that password blank during the install.

Is there anyway of not having to type in the password during the boot?
Just not have the sign in screen at all?

Thanks, Mac

If you had left it blank it still would have asked you for it, but you would have just had to press enter each time. TweakUI mentioned above is what you need, you can get it from microsoft (Go to www.microsoft.com and search for tweakui) make sure you get the win2k version and not xp)

I believe that in the Users & Groups control panel, you can uncheck the box "require users to press ctrl+alt+del" or something or other. Then it will ask you what account should be used to sign in and it will automatically authenticate after that.
