Windows 2000 problem....................

OK, so I installed Win 2000 in my 20 GB HDD. I created 5 GB partition and another for 15 GB. Then I installed Win 2000 in the smaller partition. Everything went smoothly. Then I tried to copy some files to my drive D (15 GB partition). I was prompted to format the drive and then I said yes. The formatting process went on and after it reaches 100%, windows said an error occurred during the process. What should I do now? I have not updated my VIA 4-in-1 patch but I would like to know other causes for this problem. Thanks for reading and posting.

Dang, I just cant remember this.... Something about needing 1 MB left free at the end of the drive, try repartioning it just a couple of MB's smaller and try again.
