Windows 2000 Pro

I've got a friend who's boss gave her one of the Dells from their office. It's got 2000 Pro on it.

The computer was part of a domain at her office. She used the Network Identification Wizard to remove the computer from the domain and was then presented with an option to log in as Administrator with a password she did not know.

I blanked the password for her. The computer now boots to the Administrator account. I can see all her data there under the user name she was using. But how do I make a new account for her tied to that data? I can't do anything in Users and Password in Control Panel. If I right click My Computer and choose Manage, I can create a new user, but am afraid to create an account using the user name she had for fear of overwriting the account.

She knows just enough to be dangerous, and this is one of those days when I'm finding out just how little I know.

Create a new account, it will get a different profile path than the existing one. Then take ownership and copy the files you need over.
