Windows 2000 Pro Won't Detect Mouse

Windows 2000 Professional upgrade was installing fine, but after it's done detecting devices my mouse won't work. This is just a normal mouse, not a USB. How do I get it to detect the mouse?

The mouse worked after Windows 2k finished installing. I freaked a little because I thought it would work after it detected devices.
