Hi, I've been having problems with my system "studdering" on and off and I don't know why. You can check out my system specs in my signature but i don't know what to do about it, it is sortof an annoyacne. Does anyone know why it is doing this? And further more, how I can fix it?
thanx

"studdering" as in it like studders lol... it enters a semi locked mode where it repeats a sound or something for 2 or so seconds then conintues normally. Event log?

your sig says you overclocking. even tho its not a big overclock it could be the sorce of your problims. what kind of power source do you have. and what voltages are you runnin g at?

I have onboard sound for the modo, and thats what I use, no sound card... I have a 350Watt power supply, but what would that have to do with the system "studdering?"

A place to start tracking down your problem is to open the ?Task List? and see what processes are grabbing the most CPU time. It could be a number of things causing your problem, i.e. disk indexing, misconfiged antivirus program, fast find for MS Office, etc. It might be helpful if you included a little more info like what programs you have loading at startup.

Have you done any of the easy things like a cleanup of the
User TEMP directory, Temp Internet files, Defrag to see if that helps?
