Windows 2000 pro login help

I'm working on a friends comp windows 2000 pro with registry problems.The help I need dosen't have anything to do with the registry though.
I brought it home booted it up and wanted to join my little network. made a few changes, and must have changed something in logon because now at boot it asks for a password.
Am I screwed? Could I do an upgrade to XP? Or would it keep the same loggin settings ya?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

PasswordRenew from the UBCD4Win disc. Create new administrator account.

Whats the UBCD4Win disc?
Is that on the windows 2000 CD ?

Go into Control Panel/Users and Passwords
You can fix it there

Follow the build instructions carefully. Much easier than it used to be but you can still slip up. Many of the included plugins can be updated before burning the disc.
