Windows 2000 Pro compatibility issues

It pisses me off that Win 2000 Pro has problems with my extremly cheap Shuttle mainboard and I find out about that after wasting 9 hours trying to install the damn thing.

Any other big glitches known to Win 2000 I should be aware of?

I think your glitch is with shuttle not windows. I owned a shuttle once actually 2 I had to RMA the first one when I got the second one I couldn't load win 95. I finally threw it in the trash and bought a cheap gigabyte. 😉

I guess some are a little cheaper than others. 🙂

I believe with that Shuttle board you have to make some changes to the Advanced PCI settings for the IRQ routing mini-driver and IRQ's for the system. I have done some Win2k with SS7 Shuttle boards and they work fine, but you have to make those bios tweaks to make it go. One of the few MB's to have such settings in the bios.

I do have a cheap Gigabyte mainboard, but I can't get that to work with my system at all. *shrugs* It just sits in my corner. All the money I've wasted buying cheap mainboards I could've just bought a really nice one that would last.

Shuttle mobo is the suckest in the world... very unstable and just basically all-around cheap component, worst engineered mobo...
used to have one and ohh it's like mobo from hell!!!!! wish the company gone belly up if not already so (usually I won't wish bad thing on other, but this is exception)
