Windows 2000 Pro and Gaming

Should I get Windows Me or XP or 98SE to dualboot and to game (Quake III)?

Or is Windows 2000 Pro usable?

A drawback is that I have a laptop with the ATI 32MB Mobility card. 850 Mhz with 5,400 HD and 512 SDRAM.

Thanks.

I and several others use Win2000 to game, I don't see why you couldn't. Win2000 works flawlessly for me on a desktop. I have 3 friends with Win2000 on laptops and game with those without a problem.😀

I've been using Win2000 gaming wise for a while. I may toss the win98se partition since I can now run Dos games; I could not in Win98se.

I have a couple old games that I like to play occassionally that won't run on Win2k so I dual boot. If all you are playing is more current titles, win2k is fine.

My fav game still is Panzer General 2 - and I can't get it to run on W2KPro. That's holding me back from pitching W98SE. Any suggestions from W2K gamers out there? Thanks.

Go there, find your game and try their solution... Maybe won't work, maybe it will.

Win2KPro and Inspiron 4100 (866PIII-M/ATI 16 MB DDR Mobility Radeon) here.

Works fine for many newer games. Not all supported or will patch. My desktop however, is still WIN98SE ('till I finish those games).

been using win2k pro for a while (just reformatted to it last night from win2k advanced server again). been using win2k pro for a long time and it works great for games. long time ago i was on nt and games didnt work. now, i use it with radeon 8500 retail. its good!
