Howdy,
We currently print via a direct IP setup at work but we want to change to using a print server to make things easier. We have a box that we will be putting Windows 2000 Advanced Server on that we want to use as a print server. The printers we have are mainly Xerox/Tektronix Phase 780s, Small Lexmark T612 and S1855s, and some big Canon 330/400s. Some of the printers have built in print servers but most do not and we don't have any way of tracking usage.
Does windows include logging capabilities so we can get information such as who's printing what, when, etc? That is an important requirement that we have to have. I couldn't find any sites that really talked in any detail about the Print Server function of a Windows Server machine so if anyone has any info, let me know.
Thanks.
