i was using windows 2000 previously .. i have 3 partitiongs .. c, d, e.. windows 2000 was on the c partition. then i upgraded to winxp.. i store all my data files and backups on drive d and e .. when i was in winxp i put perms on drive e so that only the admin would be allow to see that drive and denied access to that drive to all other users.. so then i decided xp was no good so i formatted and installled win2k on drive c.. now the problem.. drive d is fine i can access all my files and folders in it because i didnt set the perms on it.. but for drive e i set the perms on it in XP.. so now im on 2k.. now i can enter the e drive but i have access denied to all files and folders.. i am using admin acct in win2k btw.. when i try to right click on the folderns within drive e and then click on properties then security.. i get a message saying "you do not have permissions to edit or view the current settings for [folder name] but you can take ownership or change audit settings." Now all of the stuff in the security popup are grayed out such as add or remove user etc.. is there any way i can get access to my stuff again ? thx in advance.
