Hey all,
I recently put a new computer in my office. I have a T1 connection in here, and I noticed that every now and then, when I am online (or file transferring from another office), my conenction will just crap out on me. At first, I thought the problem lied elsewhere (too much traffic, server hiccups, that kind of thing)....
The worst part of it is, once it craps out, it completely goes into "offline" mode, where IE5 and ICQ and all of them say that the computer is offline. --And I can't get it to reconnect without RESTARTING the computer completely.
Another thing that happens, which I just noticed, is this: I just installed a USB mouse on here. At the VERY INSTANT my connection dies on me, the mouse begins to only refresh about 2x per second. --So, the mouse is just creeping. Like I said, this happens ONLY at the very second that connection dies. --And it only affects the USB mouse, not the regular one.
Also, when this happens, I open up task manager... I thought something had eaten my resources, or something like that. Nope. When it happens, Windows is only using about 1/3 of my PHYSICAL memory, and NONE of my CPU cycles. --Pretty much the normal Windows overhead. --Also, despite the erratic mouse movement, which gives the appearance of a crawling system, my programs (even very heavy ones, like Photoshop and Maya) open VERY quickly, and work normally.
So, what's up? I'm baffled.
Thanks in advance..
