Windows 2000 misrepresented cpu utilization?

I have a dual PIII machine running Win2000. I noticed a couple of days ago that my task manager read 50% cpu utilization, the second proccesor reads 100% where the first reads 1%-5%. Usually it reads 1%-5% for both. It doesn't seem to be software, because I've formatted and reinstalled. Has anyone seen this before? If so what the heck is going on and can I fix this?

What motherboard are you using?
This is an ACPI problem. Please post more info in order to remedy the problem.

If you're running an Asus P2B-x this is a known problem. You will have to reinstall without ACPI. The only fix I know if involves soldering some resistors onto the mobo.

This is an Epox KP6-BS. This must be an isolated problem becaused it used to work. I guess I'll check out Epox's website and see what I can find.
