Hi all,
I have posted about this problem before and here is the reference for what I have done so far.
I think I have pinned point where the problem is. I realize the computer will only freeze right at the moment when I click under the windows environment. Especially right clicking on the recycle bin, it is guranteed a freeze. This is friggin weird and driving me nuts.
The mouse I used was a Logitech cordless mouse. I have tried uninstalling any mouse related software, registry remanents and Logitech drivers. I also tried a completely clean installation of Windows 2000. But the lock-up just wouldn't go away.
I was thinking maybe the PS/2 port was fried by a thunderstorm surge around a week ago. Therefore, I went ahead to BestBuy and picked up a USB mouse (for some reason I got another Logitech). The problem stays exactly the same.
Worst comes to worst if I can't figure anyway to deal with this, I will probably get another motherboard to replace it.
Anyway, anyone with a similar experience before who can share a solution with me? Any suggestions are welcomed to help me encounter this "crash-every-minute" bomb threat? Thanks in advance.
Everything turned back to normal after I changed the Windows 2000 Fade Effect to Scroll Effect. It can be the new nVidia driver 12.xx. Don't know for sure though.
