Windows 2000, I cant install extra components

I put my Windows 2000 cd, and click on add components and it gives me the error "setup was unable to open information file optional.inf" Ive looked, and the file is in the WINNT\inf folder. I tried to copy it to other locations, still not working. Anyone know whats wrong, or have any idea how to fix it? Thanks for any help.
