Windows Starts up as normal, and just before it gets to the user and password screen, it goes blue. I get the following message " The Logon User Interface DLL ginamsi.dll failed to load. Contact your system adminisrator to restore the DLL, or restore the original DLL." I tried last known good to no avail. Could someone please help? Thank you very much.

Just a shot in the dark, could you post specs on your computer? Do you have a MSI motherboard?

1 gig (512X2) Corsair Value

MSI RS480M2-IL motherboard

Athlon 64 3000+

I can't get into safe mode because I get the ginamsi.dll error message there as well.

I have no idea what's wrong, but if you want to replace that dll, boot from a CD or another hard drive and swap the file for the one on your windows CD.

reinstalling it may help, - reinstall/re-copy drivers,
install & uninstall drivers after successful windows boot

As I couldn't even get into safe mode, I had to throw in the Windows 2000 CD and repair it. I deleted Lockbox, and now it restarts regularly. However, my computer now acts like a Pentium 2 with 64 megabytes of RAM. It also won't let me install Service Pack 4 for some reason.

I always had issues with sp4 for 2k - dunno why - tried it on 3 different setups. SP2 and 3 were ok.
Must've worked for millions of others though.

Can you fun processexplorer and try and see what your system is up to.
