Windows 2000 + Half-Life + OpenGL + Geforce2 MX == 60 Hz refresh rate?

Windows 2000 SP1 running Half-Life (to play Counter-Strike) in OpenGL mode with the Nvidia 6.31 drivers on a Geforce2 MX results in a 60 Hz screen at 1024x768. Has anyone gotten Half-Life to run at a faster refresh rate? It isn't too annoying but it seems like it could be a bit better!

I do have vertical sync off and all that, my desktop is 1280x1024@85 Hz. I was able to tell that it is running Half-Life at 60 Hz because my monitor has a little pop-up display with all that info...

Thanks :).

This is a normal thing for W2K to do. A thing to do about it is to go into the registry (don't remember which keys) and remove the resolutions that you don't use. A better was is to use Nvidia Resolution Fix for W2K. I guess that you can find it at www.tweakfiles.com

i think this happens to a lot of people who have nvidia based cards working on certain monitors(possibly older monitors) , myself i have never had this issue and possibly could be down to the new monitor i am using........
