Heres my specs: abit vh6 via 133a chipset 4.29 pack drivers
700 celeron,hercules geforce gts2 32mb, sb live x-gamer, 128 mb ram, 19 inch monitor desktop resolution @ 1024X768 16bit, running on freshly installed windows 2000.
this is kind of wierd in quake3 arena ohh yea i installed the WHQL 7.58 drivers for my card, in quake3 its only about 2-3 frames slower than the windows 98, but the image quality seems better and more crisp looking on 2000 i have all settings high at 1024X768 32bit,but i installed UT Game of the year edition using direct 3d rendering and at the main windows i set the resolution at the same as my desktop like i always had on windows98 being 1024X768 16bit, 32 bit runs to slow for my little 700mhz celery 66mhz bus, anyways when it comes back up to the main window after the resolution change on the side of the screen theres the black border just to the left and right hand side its not displaying the full screen its like if the monitor was turn off on the sides i hope u guys know what i;m talking about basically its not full full screen but it is even on the sides though, but something interesting i thought that direct X D3D performance will be way slower on 2000 than compared to 98, but OMG UT ran smooth, faster, image quality looks better than 98 just like quake3 arena looked better i couldnt believe it looked good and ran great i just need to figure why when i set it to my desktop resolution its not being display in full, full mode theres the black border on left and right hand side. has any1 experience what i have? i like windows 2000 it runs good on my machine.
