Windows 2000, earthlink accelerator problem.

I uninstalled earthlink accelerator and when I dial up to the internet and try to get online with IE it will not let me. I noticed that something keeps putting in a proxy server when I try. I disconnect and connect though lan and then it works fine. How do I stop accelerator from putting in the proxy while trying to use a dial up connection?
