My harddrive crashed so I had to reinstall everything. A friend of mine gave me win2k. I installed it but been having problems with my sound card (Ensonqui VIVO). The drivers were only meant for win95/98. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have run into the same thing with this card. They do make NT4 drivers, but they don't guarantee that they will work in your system and their use and stability deviates from system to system. If you are using ACPI in Win2K, your VIVO probably uses IRQ9 for one of the two IRQ's it uses - the other being IRQ5. This can be a resource allocation nightmare, but one that can be overcome with some work. IRQ9 is usually the one that ACPI uses for resource allocation within Win2K - this is where some problems have come from with lockups and instability with the OS.

The best thing to do may be to get a PCI unit and get rid of the ISA VIVO.
