"Windows 2000 computer shuts down when accessing microsoft.com"

I removed a couple of worms off of the system and now I am unable to access any of the microsoft sites.
I can browse to anywhere else on the net with the exception of Microsoft.

I do not remember the worms that were removed other than they were older one. ( did not write them down)
shame on me..

Any help would be appreciated.

Did your antivirus program log any of the "worms" name in their logs? They might of edited registry settings or something and you didn't catch it.

You might want to check your hosts file to see if there is an entry of 0.0.0.0 microsoft.com.
