No matter what I do, I can't seem to get the tuner portion of of my ATI All in Wonder 128 Pro card to work with Windows 2000. It does work as I had it working briefly last week before I had to do a fresh install of W2K. Although all other aspects of the card works, whenever I try to start the tuner, it says it cannot initialize the video.

In the control panel, the ATI multimedia configure shows 'No default' for tuner, which I know is incorrect. All the latest supported drivers are installed as is Directx 8a, and windows service pack 2.

I have tried installing, uninstalling, reinstalling the drivers numerous times to no avail...anyone have any ideas.

Did you install the DirectX 8 digital video supplement? You need to. Also what sohcrates said, but only if you are running Server or Advanced Server, as he said.

Im just using the professional version...and Directx 8a is installed. It basically seems as if the ATI software isn't seeing the card, while the rest of the computer does.

Thanks in advance

Yes but is the DX8 digital video supplement installed? It is a separate download from Microsoft.

That did it...Hmm after all the articles I read, none of them mentioned the Directx 8 video driver. That is something that ATI should document on their website.

Thanks

Yeah, there's lots of things ATI should document on their website. But that's what we're here for.
