Does anyone have Windows 2000 running stable on a KT133a motherboard with raid 0 or raid 1? If so, what motherboard are you using? I currently have a P800 on an abit SA6R raid 1 with Windows 2000 completely stable, but I want to switch to a faster tbird/kt133a combo. I have read a couple of threads in another forum about problems getting Win 2000 to work with raid on a KT133a mobo. Tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything on this. Thanks.

Most of the problems I have seen concerning running/installing RAID on win2k have been the result of whomever not taking any time to learn how to correctly install it.

I have been running RAID 0 on my A7V133 in win2k (win2k 99% of the time) and winME with no problems whatsoever. I just used the Promise RAID drivers off the ASUS CD. The install was simple and performance is great. I have it hooked together with two IBM 45 GB's.

As for complete stability of the board in win2k--I haven't been running it that long to know for sure. I have experienced some lockups and a few random restarts but I'm still just getting to know the board and get it running at 100%. In any case, I am almost certain my few instability problems are not the result of RAID.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply cbuchach.

I didn't realize the A7V133 had onboard raid. Which controller does is use and will it do raid 1? Thanks.

I've got an Asus A7V133 (KT133A) with two IBM drives in RAID0. Win2k's completely stable, and i'm having no problems whatsover. Great board! :)

Thanks for the reply. Did some more research on the A7V133 and know now that it has the promise raid controller, but from what I read it is a scaled down version and will only do raid 0 bur not raid 1. Can anyone verify that? Does anyone have a raid 1 setup on an athlon mb, A7V or otherwise?
