Hello can anyone help..
Im having a problem running Photo Editor when logged into any windows 2000 (Sp2) on our network.
If im logged in as admin or someone with Admin Rights then all works fine.... But if i log on as anyone else i get an error about "No File Format Information Can Be Found In The Registry", Photo Ed then opens with a greyed out screen. if i then try to open any type of picture file i get the following error " Photo Editor Cannot find or open c:\???????.bmp".. I have tried changing access rights to program files and winnt folders (which i dont really want to do) but this did not solve my problem..... CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELLLLPPPP ME... Please.

Thanks

it sounds like your program doesnt work well in the multi user environment found in 2k and xp.. i'd go to the maker of this program and see if theres an updated version compatible with 2k/xp.. if not, you'll probably have to find some alternative software.

i dont believe this is available on 2k (i avoided 2k like a plague..) but xp has compatibility mode.. if 2k has a similar feature, you might try that.

OK you was all a bit slow. i have found it know..
if you also need the solution then here it is...
1. Log in as Admin
2. open "regedt32.exe"
3. Goto following key. "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools"
4. Click Security Menu and then Permissions.
5. in the Name List Select Users.
6. Under Allow Select FULL CONTROL
7. Click OK
8. Exit Regedt32
9. Problem Sorted

Hope this helps someone else one day

Bye For now
