Windows 2000 and NTFS

Can I format a hardrive to NTFS and install windows 2000 on it? Does it support NTFS like windows XP?

Just an FYI, Win2K is NT 5 and WinXP is NT 5.1

oh and do are ntfs formated hardrives recognition affected if i have a bios from like 1999? (Dell Dimension XPS R350)

The BIOS never sees the filesystem, you can put whatever you want on there.

and what would be the maximum hardrive size that can be detected by a bios made in like 99?

Hard to say, but it probably doesn't matter. Worst case scenario is that you have to setup a partition for booting that's under the 8G mark. For Windows this would mean the whole system drive so you would probably want it to be 8G, for Linux just /boot and for BSDs just / both of which would probably be under 100M.
