Guys, I have a legacy software than ran like a champ under win98 and now that I moved to Win2k, I'm trying to implement the follow, which I did under win98, under my new win2k OS. Could someone give me help me by giving me specifics on how to implement the instructions below. I'm not a computer wiz though I know my way around the OS pretty well so details would be much appreciated. TIA!

Here are the instructions for win98:

Delete or disable the ?set ssi act = 10 10 10? command in your autoexec.bat file.

The FILES = command in your autoexec.bat file should read
?FILES=50?.

If present, delete / disable DEVICE=ssiact.386 command from the [386Enh] section of the system.ini file located in your c:\windows directory.

Include the following commands at the very begining of the [386Enh] section of the system.ini file located in your c:\windows directory:

DEVICE=BASEDRV.386
DEVICE=MYLOCK.386
DEVICE=SSI95.VXD

**I have a unopened, shrinkwrapped, CDRW disk that I'll give to someone who can help me impliment the above. Since I only have one, anyone else that offers help that moves me toward the solution, I'll send ya a CDR. I'll even pay for shipping guys :D

windows2000 doesnt use a autoexec.bat file you have to change the system variables thru the correct interface for it.

The w2k command prompt simulates DOS, with many of the commands having the same name and similar functions, but it is not DOS. W2k will run many DOS programs, but will not permit them to directly control hardware. For those DOS programs that need to control hardware (including memory, like Ultima7) create an appropriate DOS floppy and boot with it. Use the DOS7 that's in win98 and is used in the win98 startup floppies, which is better than the old DOS 6.2.
