Windows 2000 and ATA-100 support..Emergency Question

Hello All,

A friend of mine has just installed Windows 2000 Pro with a 1 GHZ Thunderbird on a Asus A7V motherboard. He has read in other places that Windows 2000 does NOT support Ata-100 drives at all... (A7V having an onboard ATA-100 controller)... Is this true? Is there any way around this? If so please point me in the right direction.

I read microsofts blurb on how you need updated files (4 of them).. I have all updated versions of these files except for the Pciidex.sys file... Could someone please email it to me at

You need to update the bios on the MB.
