Windows 2000/AMD Patch for AGP?

I just found out about this patch while reading a thread in another forum. There doesn't seem to be a release date for the patch on the AMD site. Is it still necessary after SP2?

I've been running an Athlon on a new Win2k system, but haven't noticed any problems. Any advantages to patching beyond what the AMD article states?

if you're not having a problem (i.e. lockups when gaming), you don't need the patch. all it does is add a registry entry, im sure they put it in sp2
