Greetings from Portugal!

I was wondering if the yet to come 64 bits version of win2k was going to support MIPS and or other 64 bits processors besides Itanium.

Because, if it does support them, then SGIs' O2 and Octane Workstations would become much more desirable!! (even more!! can you imagine it?? :) )

Do you know anything about this? Or win2k 64 bits is just for Itaniums??

P.S.: sorry for the bad english!

I think windows 2001 64 bit officially will support Itanium for now. I'm sure that AMD is putting alot of pressure on Microsoft to also have a 64 bit version that will support there 64 bit cpu.
It wouldn't really make sense for microsoft to ignore AMD because Linux would come up with a 64 bit OS for the AMD sledgehammer. I'm sure that microsoft doesn't want Linux eating away at anymore of it's market share!
