Looks like Microsoft backtracked on their statement that only newer cpus like Ryzen Gen 2 or 8th Gen Intel Core and later are required for Win11.

What was the main reason for Windows moving on to 11? Security related issues?

Microsoft is running in "Eyes wide shut mode".

Microsoft is clearly not aware of the fact, hm Athlon 3000G has original first 14nm Zen CPU.

Athlon 3000G is not Zen+, it is original Zen CPU and as we see Athlon 3000G is on supported list.

I have used the Athlon 3000G for about a one year.

Same story for Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G. Also original 14nm Zen CPU, but hey for now not supported.:grimacing:

For now Desktop Ryzen 1000 series has no support, or isn’t on the Windows 11 drunk radar detection
. In short, it’s all just plain nonsense or the basket of absurdity.:mask:

Tried Dev Build 21996.1 on an old HP Pavilion dv9700 (released 2007), that is running Windows 10 perfectly. Not surprised.

Same on a i9-10850K, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX mobo, Corsair 128 GB DDR4 3600MHz, eVGA 1080Ti FTW GPU...... NO GO.
I'll check my BIOS setting on the above setup.

What sorcery is this?

My old 2600K is going to get really mad if it can't run W11. A chip that can oc to 4.8 ghz without breaking a sweat still, really bugs the crap out of me and my daughter, now it's hers...lol

Figured it out on the Gigabyte Z590 mobo, had to enable secure boot and TPM.20 in the bios.
Installing it on a new Seagate BarraCuda 120SSD - 500GB

Do you have a TPM card or are you using the CPU integrated TPM? I hope my bios supports it.

It's not about how powerful a CPU is, but if it has or not some tech.
