Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant?

I was hoping to force-install the Creators Update on a computer running Win10 1607 64-bit but it seems to me that MS has removed the download from their website to help people to do that (when I google for the upgrade assistant it just takes me to the ISO download page). Apart from getting WU working on the computer (I'm really trying), any other suggestions, short of an OS reinstall?

I'm trying to fix what appears to be a typical Windows Update problem that would be fixed with a servicing stack update (ie. core-saturating CPU usage going on forever, verified as being caused by WU, which goes away if the service is stopped/disabled), however every servicing stack update install has thrown an error saying it's not applicable to this system (I've verified which version of Windows 10 as well as 32/64-bit)

- edit - The WU problem is fixed though out of curiosity my original question still stands.

Is that the same thing? I haven't used the upgrade assistant in a long time...

Might be just some transitional issue since the Fall CU is coming next week.

That's for downloading an ISO or writing a memory stick.

Interesting, for me (Win7 64 FF 64) that page only shows the 'download tool now' option, even on the Win10 machine using Edge. The stupid sod will probably show it fine after WU has done the Creator's Update 🙂

They upgrade assistant app lives on their Accessibility page now:

If you do have to do a re-install, pop that onto a USB stick, connect the PC to your network, and it will download & install the latest version for you.

If you download the iso, you should be able to right-click, mount and execute setup unless autorun does it first. This will also upgrade it.

Ok folks, tip of the day. Just find the in number of whatever update you want to install.

Then go to the Microsoft update center at https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx

Enter the in number and click search. From the results you can download the stand alone installer for the update.

Does that work on Windows upgrades though (e.g. 1607 to 1703)?
