Yeah I saw that unfortunately my recover USB drive doesn't do anything at all. I think a CD/DVD would work but I need my PC running to make one. Ugh

*I hear my DVD drive spin for a moment at start up

After doing battle for quite some time I have it working again. Picked up some DVD-R's burned the iso (on a different PC). First try didn't work, went into BIOS set DVD drive as first boot device, this kind of worked but I still couldn't enter safe mode (which sucks in windows 10 BTW), tried to repair files(?) that took forever and ultimately went to a blank screen without the DVD running, finally didn't follow any MS suggestions and used the recovery DVD to revert to a previous recovery date and everything appears pretty normal.
I'm tempted to do the reset my PC but keep my files, however I am afraid and tired.

This happened to me as well and unfortunately it didn't work again which is unacceptable. I think it's now time to bring it to the repair service. I don't know the reason and tried everything I can at my capacity but seems like noting of those are working.

When I had a graphics driver issue on my laptop the black screen happened to me. I ended up just performing a clean install to get past it.

Well its now happened a 3rd time. This time I tried to use the recovery disc to repair missing windows files or something similar.

Yeah I'll probably do this. After 4 attempts I've finally got it where 2/3rds the time it starts normally. I even updated to the AMD window 10 package posted on 8/12.

Turns out my problem wasn't with windows it was my 280x heat pipes were loose. I tightened them up and problem disappeared

Cool beans, glad to hear you got it all sorted out. Did you by chance swap out the TIM before you got it going again? I took the stock stuff off my alienware and replaced it with arctic silver 5.

I didn't have any but it seems fine. I'll probably order some and do it.

I had a similar problem with my Dell i15N laptop. The win-10 advisor said it was compatible but after the win10 upgrade it would boot to a blank screen. I discovered if I toggle the power button it would restore the desktop. At that point I reverted back to win-7.
