Windows 10 Stuck on start up screen

Anyone having this issue? It is driving me insane. Upgraded from 8.1 pro last night and everything was dandy. Turn it on this morning and its stuck on a screen with a dotted circle loading animation and nothing happens. I hit ctrl alt del and it takes me to a blue windows 10 screen with two options on the bottom right, Ease of Use and Network options. Nothing else. The username and password screens do not come up at all. I am able to boot into safe mode but can't pull up the start menu to try and revert back to Windows 8.1.

Any ideas? I even tried resetting the pc and after it finishes the install, it still gets stuck on the same start screen with the spinning dotted circle.

It deleted all my programs and aps...so much anger right now but thankfully it was only my windows ssd for basic program and such, i kept all my important stuff on a secondary drive.

is it possible to revert back to Windows 8.1 from inside safe mode?

Windows 10 boots up so slow, a lot of people probably think it crashed. It took me nearly 6 minutes for Windows 10 to boot up the first time. That's starting from the first windows screen. Right now that OS is junk. Its buggy as hell, and doesn't work for a lot of people. Sounds like you were fortunate enough to be able to download updates. A lot of people are having updates hang up at a certain % and never continue past that. With internet otherwise working fine. If there are problems like booting up and downloading updates then they rushed this OS out the door way too quickly. I at least expect them to get the major kinks like those worked out in beta. They got no excuses for this. Somebody higher up needs to lose their job over these issues, particularly managers of quality control. Because they done goofed.

All of my Win10 upgrades were fast and flawless, including a 2009 vintage Dell inspiron laptop.

No problems here, and certainly no slow booting going on.

I"d bet money that your registry is corrupted and you need to do a clean install. My laptop and tablet upgraded from 8.1 without issue once I removed some 3rd party applications. My desktop required a clean install of the os which worked but the first time I tried the inplace upgrade it failed miserably. Once I clean installed 8.1 and removed the 3rd party apps it went well and I'm running it today without issue. When I upgraded my moms 7 home to 10 she had registry issues that carried over to 10 requiring a clean install which remedied the problems.
