I have a LAN with 1 Win 10 system and 4 Win 7 systems, all Ethernet. All are on a workgroup called Workgroup.
I just updated Win 10 system from version 1607 to version 1703. Although the Win 10 system can still see shared folders on the Win 7 systems, the reverse is no longer true. When I try to map from Win 7 system to a shared folder on Win 10 system, I get prompt for Win10 username/password.
On the Win 10 system/Advanced Sharing Settings:
Private; Turn on network discovery; Turn on File & Printer sharing;
No homegroup.
When I try to map shared folder from Win 7 system, I am asked for password, even though shared folder is shared with Everyone. I am told that network folder specified is currently mapped using different name/password (not true.) To connect using different user name/password, disconnect any existing to this network share. (Does not help.)
