Home for most people, unless you have a specific need for the pro version.

For a standard user there is absolutely no reason to pay more for the Pro version. Back with Windows 7 it was more important because the Home version could only use up to 16GB of ram. On Windows 10 Home it'll use up to 128GB.

You won't need the domain log-in or bitlocker technology that 10 Pro offers so just save your money and get Home Edition.

OK this totally also depends on what location your at.

For example EU Laws states that you are allowed to resell OEM Windows keys on the open market.
What does that mean?
That means u can go on EBAY and buy a OEM key if you purchase the OEM key in from an EU person, and it is completely legal.

That being said, you can go on Ebay and see Windows PRO OEM keys on sale for as little as 10 dollars from a EU Vendor.

You would however need another PC with windows 10 to create whats called a Reinstall USB and go about that way to install the said OS on the machine.

That being said, there is no reason to buy HOME edition, when you can get the PRO version for near the same price AGAIN as long as its from a legal source and a EU Vendor.

We do not promote piracy however this is not piracy as long as its sourced from the EU.

The only problem tho with an OEM key vs a RETAIL key is that the license is NOT transferable to another machine like a retail key maybe.

That means any major hardware change... ie, the motherboard mostly, will invalidate your key, and you will need to purchase another OEM key.

But for most people rarely do you encounter such a large hardware change, unless something is broken.

You can find them on Ebay in the US for as low as that too. Doesn't mean that it's legal or won't be flagged down the road.

the thing is they cant... it was ruled by EU court already.

True they can have a change of heart, but i highly doubt it. Were talking about the EU.

Again, i am not promoting the sale from a US vendor, as that does violate US copyright laws, but from a EU standpoint and a EU vendor, that is completely on the legal side.

If anything microsoft would region lock the keys and not allow it to be activated, yet they haven't done so.

And from microsoft's standpoint, they would probably want more people on windows 10, so they can buy stuff from the App store, hence why i think microsoft sort of gave up on it and we dont hear much more about it.

No problem, i'm only familiar with US laws and the vast amount of fake keys sold on Ebay in general. But good to know what's allowed in the EU.
