Windows 10 Free question

Currently own 3 copies of Windows 8.1 home.
Before the Win10 free offer ended i used one of the licenses to get Windows 10.

I recently reinstalled windows 10 on my gamer system using said key with the ISO on USB key fob.
(total fresh copy on bare drive not upgrade first)

Just curious what would happen if i tried to use one of the Win8.1 licenses now on a different computer?
Would it accept it and upgrade or tell me not valid? Would try to do this but concerned that it would then kill my win8.1 license as well.

so has anyone tried to install Win10 recently using a valid Win8/8.1/7 license and been successful?

I used a Win7 Pro key, to activate a copy of Win10 Pro, a little over a week ago. It activated fine.
I also did something similar a couple of weeks ago. I used a Windows 8 Pro key to activate Windows 10 Pro on my new build. The amazing thing is the key I used was the $40 upgrade key I purchased when Windows 8 first launched. I was honestly surprised when it worked and Windows said activated. Hopefully it stays that way. haha
