Windows 10 Favorites panel gone! (replaced with quick access)

In windows 7 I have multiple folder shortcuts (with the same name) in my explorer panel under favorites. For example I will have "V: \Videos" and "R: \Videos" I drag the folder shortcuts to my panel on the left, then rename the shortcut with the corresponding drive.

I work on multiple projects at the same time with the same folder names, on different drives, so renaming links and adding new ones as I go is super efficient and key to my workflow.

Windows 10 removed this feature and replaced it with this garbage quick access.

In Windows 10 I can only create direct folder links and cannot rename them. I cant even drag a folder from the right panel to dock it into the quick access panel in a hierarchy. In 7 I sort my projects with the most recent work folder at the bottom.

Is there any way to achieve this same workflow without 3rd party tools or work around? Adding a new library is a joke, I don't want to do that either.

I can't believe MS would remove such a key feature to file management. Its as though they said..."Hey, people who use windows don't want to access or rename their folders...lets force them to put all their files in our default folder listing."

Actually, I think quick access has existed since Windows 8 (thought it was in 7 too, actually.) And yes, you can drag a folder to the quick access list. I just did it.

Install classic shell and get your familiar feel back. I have multiple folders on the start menu set up as menu's so they fly out to reveal the directories so I don't have to sift through file explore to hunt them down.

Except what he wants IS STILL THERE just going by a different name...

Yes, it used to be 'favorites' or 'links' now it got renamed to 'quick access.' That's fine, since you can still copy your old links over and it will keep the same name. I highly agree that you should be able to rename it. At work, I have two folders of the same name. Luckily you can still adjust the order, so you can remember which is which that way. Sucks, but oh well... I put in a request for the rename in the Feedback for Win10.
