Windows 10 Defender Issues after hardware update

I recently build a new rig and was able to transfer my old Win10 install to the new machine (legitimately by transferring the license). Everything is working great, expect for some odd issues with Windows Defender.

Because I upgraded from Windows 7, Microsoft Security Essentials was still installed alongside Windows Defender. Now that MSE is no longer supported and out of date, I was hoping to move 100% to Windows Defender. However, when I try to enable real time scanning, Defender keeps telling me that another AV program is doing this and I need to uninstall that before proceeding. I uninstalled MSE, Malwarebytes, and Spybot just to be on the safe side that nothing is interfering.

I still get the same error now. I was hoping to reinstall defender, but the microsoft help pages and forums have been useless thus far. Any ideas or insight on the issue?

I hadn't performed the Creators Update with the old rig. Once installed on the new system, defender is working as intended.
