Windows 10 Black Screen w/Cursor Issue

I'm having an issue after what I assume to be a recent update where when I log in to my admin profile I get a black screen but my cursor is visible. I can bring up task manager, but none of the solutions in the link below has worked so far:

What's even more weird is if I log in with a local account, I can see my desktop and the pc runs fine. I'll probably have to reinstall the OS, but I'm concerned I'm going to run into the issue again when it updates. Any suggestions or just reinstall and pray?

Personally, anytime things start to go wonky like that I go for a fresh install of windows. I actually just went through an update that bricked a brand new Surface Pro 2017. Luckily Microsoft replaced it with a brand new sealed in the box unit, but the point still stands that updates can be a pain sometimes.

If I were you, I would simply just back up the data that you need to and start with a fresh install. I do reformat my system on average once every 2 months just to keep things as fresh as possible. Nothing runs better than a brand new install of windows.

As far as worrying about it happening a second time, the chances are extremely slim. It's POSSIBLE, but highly highly unlikely. Fresh installs generally go extremely smooth. It's the installs that are completely crowded and are 2 years old with hundreds of apps / programs installed that give issues usually.
