I went back to Windows 10 1803 and dialogue in the same video works.
How do I fix this in Windows 10 1809 please?

No issue here. Install vlc (or the latest version of) and see if you have the same problem.

Are you talking a certain format or like online/Youtube videos?

BTW if you would like a sample of the video file it is fine but I have a feeling you have your own. Thanks.

Change your Audio settings.

Something is messed up and it is not defaulting to 2.1.

I had the same issue the past couple of weeks, something with the new Realtek Driver and Windows 1809

I had the same issue for a few hours one day that Century link had net issues. I did remove the drivers and also found that Nvidia had also installed a driver. New Realtec install fixed it.

Thanks guys but the weird part is a direct fresh install of Windows 10 64 bit Build 1809 still has no dialogue in audio of videos still but a Windows update from Windows 10 64 bit Build 1803 to Windows 10 64 bit Build 1809 works fine. There is dialogue in audio of videos then.

Weird.
