Don't forget to clean out the Windows.old folder afterwards; the free software CCleaner includes an easy method of accomplishing that.
You can't just delete it manually?
Just wondering if you happen to know the manual deletion method? I've never done that before...
The last time I tried the manual method of removing the "Windows.old" folder, it involved using some 3rd party programs: "Unlocker" and/or "Take Ownership", and required multiple attempts (and significantly more time) than simply using: CCleaner.
Pretty much. Windows 10 is smarter than anything we've seen before.Considering Disk Cleanup will clean out this folder with a couple clicks, I don't know why you all find it necessary to find another program to do it (even ccleaner).
