Can I remove the "network cable unplugged" when I am not connected to the network? I can hide it but want to remove it.

The bigger problem is that I lost my volume icon and can't get it back. I remember changing some settings to disable the option of changing the tool bars/homepage so websites can't change my IE title bar message etc. Now I want to undo it but can't remember what I did.

thanks for any help.

do you mean the sound icon in your taskbar? you should just be able to go to SOUNDS in the control panel and there should be a box to check to show the icon in the taskbar. but if you did something with your registries for the IE thing, then i am not sure if you accidently messed up nething. good luck fixing it though!

I checked the box but it said it wasn't installed and told me to check the window add/remove setting
and I couldn't find where to add that option.

I also installed a program that needs to add a new tool bar to IE but it wouldn't show up.
I can't remember what I did to settings.
