Both generally and in the specific for the new photos program. There appears to be a minimum size you can shrink the photos windows down to. If you plug your computer into a projector you can't fit the whole of photos on screen and lose buttons off the edge.

Its really annoying to have the move the window left/right off the edges of the screen just to hit buttons.

Are there any recommended tools to force window sizes to the size you want, rather than what the programmer wanted?

Mirror your laptop and projector so that they are both using the projector's res?

Thats the problem. If i set the laptop to 1024x768 I can't get at all of the controls in photos. I've noticed it in imovie too.

Well, that is a lower res than any computer Apple has shipped in... 9? years? It's not too terribly surprising that they don't play nice with it.

As for your question about an app that will force windows to resize smaller than they ordinarily would... I don't have an answer.

Its just annoying more than a huge problem. The thing that bugs me most is that its not crowded at the top of the window, and buttons wouldn't be overlapping, you just can't resize it square. Its always a widescreen window even if the resolution isn't.

Sometimes I love massive backwards comparability and ability to deal with a wide range of hardware. Our windows laptops still have VGA ports built in.
